On this Day 15 we seek God for revelation leading to repentance. We pray for men as a group and for countries in Asia and the Pacific including the Koreas, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia and several island nations. I localize these prayers for Grace Baptist and for our city and region around Manhattan.
Father, we have long contended that the knowledge of sin will lead to repentance. We confess that this is an incomplete and misleading perspective. True repentance begins with a more significant grasp of who You are. Reveal yourself such that we see your glorious mercy in the face of our sinfulness and so repent with godly sorrow and deep joy.
We call on You to turn rebels into worshipers throughout our town. Many live as if hearts never change. But You do change people’s desires. You give new affections. You turn lives in new directions. Give hope to those who have prayed for revival for a long time.
We acknowledge that a revived church will hold a new honor for men and their leadership in the family and family of God. Raise up shepherds who are capable of caring for our church because they are strong leaders in their families. Do this for churches all across the city. Develop godly men to lead the churches in these nations of Asia.
Relegating men to the fringes has resulted in their passivity and apathy. The church has suffered. Fathers and husbands have neglected the tasks that only they can do. Forgive and restore your people for your glory.
